Abstract
การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา (1) แนวคิดทางการเมืองของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวเปรียบเทียบกับแนวคิดทางการเมืองของมาเคียเวลลี (2) พระบรมราโชบายทางการเมืองของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวเปรียบเทียบกับแนวนโยบายทางการเมืองของมาเคียเวลลี
การวิจัยนี้ใช้วิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพด้วยวิธีการทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยดำเนินการ 2 ส่วน ได้แก่ การวิจัยเอกสารและการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก ซึ่งมีประชากรประกอบด้วยเอกสารทางประวัติศาสตร์และ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญประวัติศาสตร์รัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น 3 ท่าน โดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์ที่ไม่มีโครงสร้างและนำข้อมูลที่ได้จากการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึกมาวิเคราะห์ในเชิงพรรณนา
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) แนวคิดทางการเมืองของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว คล้ายคลึงกับแนวคิดทางการเมืองของมาเคียเวลลี เนื่องจากแนวคิดในเรื่องภาวะผู้นำทางการเมือง การได้มาซึ่งอำนาจ การรักษาอำนาจ การรวมชาติเป็นหนึ่งเดียวและความมั่นคงแห่งรัฐมีความคล้ายคลึงกัน แต่การให้ความหมายผลกระทบจากโชคชะตาทางการเมืองมีความแตกต่างกัน (2) พระบรมราโชบายทางการเมืองของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวคล้ายคลึงกับแนวนโยบายทางการเมืองของมาเคียเวลลี เนื่องจากมีการจัดรูปแบบและระเบียบทางการเมืองการปกครองภายในรัฐให้เป็นสมัยใหม่ การจัดตั้งกองกำลังแห่งชาติ การดำเนินการทางการทูตกับรัฐภายนอกและการตรากฎหมายเพื่อบังคับใช้ภายในรัฐมีความคล้ายคลึงกัน แต่การให้มีกฎหมายสูงสุดแห่งรัฐและการให้สิทธิเสรีภาพทางการเมืองแก่ประชาชนมีความแตกต่างกัน ทั้งนี้เพราะด้วยการกล่อมเกลาทางการเมืองมาตั้งแต่ทรงพระเยาว์ ซึ่งส่งเสริมให้พระองค์ทรงมีภาวะผู้นำทางการเมืองและใช้คุณธรรมความสามารถทางการเมืองอย่างมีศิลปะในการจัดการโชคชะตา ทางการเมืองต่างๆ เพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งอำนาจรวมศูนย์แห่งองค์พระมหากษัตริย์และรักษาอำนาจแห่งสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ ให้ครอบคลุมขอบเขตแห่งรัฐอันนำมาซึ่งความมั่นคงแห่งรัฐและการรวมชาติสยามเป็นหนึ่งเดียวอย่างมีเอกราช
The purposes of this research were: (1) to study and compare political concepts of King Chulalongkorn with Machiavelli; (2) to study and compare royal policies of King Chulalongkorn with political policies of Machiavelli The research methodology of this study was qualitative approach by using historical method. The samples composed of primary and secondary historical documents and 3 people who are expert in the Rattanakosin historical period by interview form was used for data collection. Then qualitative data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The results showed that: (1) The political concepts of King Chulalongkorn were similar to political thoughts of Machiavelli because political leadership, gaining and maintaining power, unified nation and state security were similar but the definitions of political fortune effects were different. (2) The royal policies of King Chulalongkorn were similar to political Machiavelli’s policies because setting new mode and order of politics and governments, creating national army, using diplomacy with other states and legislating laws in the state were similar but establishing constitution and giving rights and freedom of people were different. Thus resulting in political socialization from a young age may cause King Chulalongkorn to have political leadership and use the Art of Virtù in managing Political Fortuna for gaining absolute power and maintaining power of dynasty, leading to state security and unification of Siam
