Abstract
การวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อประยุกต์ใช้การวิเคราะห์ความอยู่รอดในการศึกษาปัจจัยที่ทำนายการสำเร็จการศึกษาของนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาโท สาขาวิชาศึกษาศาสตร มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช
กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ บัณฑิตและนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาโท สาขาวิชาศึกษาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช ที่เริ่มศึกษาในปีการศึกษา 2547 ถึง 2551 จำนวน 206 คน ปัจจัยทำนายที่ศึกษาประกอบด้วยปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล ปัจจัยการปรับตัวเข้ากับการศึกษาทางไกล ปัจจัยความทุ่มเทในการเรียน ปัจจัยคุณภาพการจัดการเรียนการสอน ปัจจัยเจตคติต่อมหาวิทยาลัย ปัจจัยคุณภาพการให้บริการของมหาวิทยาลัย ปัจจัยลักษณะอาจารย์ที่ปรึกษาการทำวิทยานิพนธ์/การค้นคว้าอิสระ และปัจจัยทักษะที่จำเป็นต่อการทำวิทยานิพนธ์/การค้นคว้าอิสระ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามปัจจัยที่ทำนายการสำเร็จการศึกษา สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ การวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบและการวิเคราะห์ความอยู่รอด
ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า ปัจจัยคุณภาพการจัดการเรียนการสอน ปัจจัยการปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมให้เข้ากับการศึกษาทางไกล และปัจจัยเจตคติและการบริการของมหาวิทยาลัย สามารถทำนายการสำเร็จการศึกษาของนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาโท สาขาวิชาศึกษาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช ได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 โดยคุณภาพการจัดการเรียนการสอนส่งผลเชิงลบต่อการสำเร็จการศึกษา ขณะที่การปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมให้เข้ากับการศึกษาทางไกล, เจตคติและการบริการของมหาวิทยาลัยส่งผลในเชิงบวก
This research aimed to apply a survival analysis to analyze factors predicting degree completion of master’s degree students of the School of Educational Studies, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. The employed research sample consisted of 206 master’s degree students of the School of Educational Studies, who enrolled during the 2004 – 2008 academic years. Predicting factors being studied included the student personal factors, the emotional and behavioral adjustment factors to conform to the distance education environment, the learning commitment factor, the instructional quality factor, the attitudes toward university factor, the university services factor, the thesis/independent study advisor characteristics factor, and the research skill factors necessary to complete thesis/ independent study. The employed research instrument was a questionnaire on predicting factors for degree completion. Statistical procedures employed for data analysis were the factor analysis and survival analysis. Research findings could be concluded that the instructional quality factor, the emotional and behavioral adjustment factors to conform to the distance education environment, the attitudes toward university factor, and the university services factor could predict the degree completion of master’s degree students of the School of Educational Studies, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University with statistical significance at the .05 level. Specifically, the instructional quality factor negatively predicted degree completion while the emotional and behavioral adjustment factors, the attitudes toward university factor, and the university services factor had positive effects on degree completion.
