Abstract
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) การเปิดรับข้อมูลข่าวสารผ่านสื่อสังคม และการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองในการเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพฯ ของคนเจเนอเรชั่นวาย 2) เปรียบเทียบการรับรู้ข้อมูลข่าวสารผ่านสื่อสังคม และการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมือง ในการเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพฯตามลักษณะทางประชากรของคนเจเนอเรชั่นวาย และ 3) วิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการเปิดรับข้อมูลข่าวสารผ่านสื่อสังคมกับการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองในการเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพฯของคนเจเนอเรชั่นวาย การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ประชาชนผู้ที่มีสิทธิเลือกตั้งในเขตกรุงเทพมหานครที่เกิดระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2524-2543 จำนวน 400 คน โดยสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยเป็นแบบสอบถาม และสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ คำความถี่ ค่ร้อยละ ค่เฉลี่ย ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว การวิเคราะห์ค่าสับประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์แบบเพียร์สัน และค่การทดสอบค่าไคลแควร์ ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีการเปิดรับข้อมูลข่าวสารทางการเมืองในการเลือกตั้งอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยเปิดรับผ่านสื่อสังคมประเภทเฟซบุ๊กมากที่สุด และส่วนใหญ่ใช้ระยะเวลาเปิดรับข้อมูลข่าวสาร 15-30 นาทีต่อครั้ง โดยมีระดับการรับรู้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับวิธีการไปใช้สิทธิเลือกตั้งมากกว่าข้อมูลด้านอื่นๆ และส่วนใหญ่มีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองในการเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพฯครั้งนี้ทั้งก่อน ระหว่างและหลังการเลือกตั้ง ในระดับมาก 2) กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่มีระดับการศึกษาต่างกัน มีระดับการรับรู้ข้อมูลข่าวสารทางการเมืองในการเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพฯผ่านสื่อสังคมแตกต่างกัน โดยผู้ที่มีการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีหรือเทียบเท่า ปริญญาโทและอื่นๆ มีระดับการรับรู้ข้อมูลข่าวสารมากกว่าผู้ที่มีระดับการศึกษาต่ำกว่าระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย และ ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย คนเจเนอเรชั่นวายที่มีระดับการศึกษา อาชีพ และรายได้ต่างกัน มีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองในการเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพฯ ผ่านสื่อสังคมแตกต่างกัน กล่าวคือ ผู้ที่มีการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีหรือเทียบเท่า ปริญญาโท และอื่นๆ มีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองมากกว่าผู้ที่มีระดับการศึกษาต่ำกว่าระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย และระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย ด้านอาชีพผู้ที่มีอาชีพนักเรียน นักศึกษา ข้าราชการ รัฐวิสาหกิจ เจ้าหน้าที่รัฐ พนักงานเอกชน ลูกจ้าง และอื่นๆ มีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองในการเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพฯ มากกว่ากลุ่มอาชีพธุรกิจส่วนตัว ด้านรายได้ พบว่า กลุ่มที่มีรายได้ต่อเดือนต่ำกว่า 15,000 บาท, 15,001-25,000 บาท, 35,001-45,000 บาท มีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองมากกว่ากลุ่มที่มีรายได้ต่อเดือน 45,001 บาท ขึ้นไป 3) ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการเปิดรับข้อมูลข่าวสารผ่านสื่อสังคมกับการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมือง พบว่า มีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวก และมีคำความสัมพันธ์อยู่ในระดับต่ำ
The objectives of this research were 1) to study exposure to news and information through social media and the political participation in the Bangkok gubernatorial election of Generation Y; 2) to compare Gen Y’s demographic factors with their levels of information exposure through social media and with their levels of participation in the Bangkok gubernatorial election; and 3) to analyze the relationship between Gen Y’s level of information exposure through social media and their level of participation in the Bangkok gubernatorial election.This was survey research. The sample population was 400 people born between 1981 and 2000 who were registered to vote in Bangkok, chosen through multi-stage sampling. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. Data were statistically analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlated coefficient and chi square.The results showed that 1) Generation Y in Bangkok were exposed to political news and information about the Bangkok gubernatorial election to a high level. They were exposed to information via Facebook the most. On average, most of them reported reading/watching news 15-30 minutes at a time. The information that they were exposed to the most was information about how to utilize one’s right to vote. The majority of survey respondents reported that they had a high level of participation in the Bangkok gubernatorial election before, during and after the election. 2) Gen Y individuals with different educational levels had different levels of exposure to political news about the electoral race for Bangkok governor via social media. Gen Y respondents with educational level of bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or higher had higher levels of exposure than those with educational level of secondary school or lower. The respondents with different educational levels, occupations and income ranges had different levels of participation in the electoral race for Bangkok governor via social media. The respondents with educational level of bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or higher had higher levels of political participation than respondents with educational level of secondary school or lower. As for the factor of occupation, respondents whose occupation was student, government or state enterprise employee, private sector employee or “other” had higher levels of participation in the gubernatorial election than respondents who were independently employed. For income range, individuals who reported monthly income in the ranges of under 15,000 baht, 15,001-25,000 baht, or 35,001-45,000 baht had higher levels of political participation than individuals who reported monthly income of 45,001 baht and over. 3) Exposure to information via social media was positively correlated to political participation to a low degree.
