การใช้สารสนเทศของอาจารย์และนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าพระนครเหนือ

Abstract

การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสํารวจ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและเปรียบเทียบการใช้ทรัพยากรสารสนเทศ ปัญหาการใช้บริการสารสนเทศและความต้องการบริการสารสนเทศของอาจารย์และนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าพระนครเหนือ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ประกอบด้วยอาจารย์จํานวน 137 คน นักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาจํานวน 181 คน เครื่องมือที่่ใช้เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเป็นแบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่สถิติเชิงพรรณนาและการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว ผลการวิจัยที่สําคัญพบว่ากลุ่มอาจารย์มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการใช้สารสนเทศที่สําคัญ คือ เพื่อการค้นคว้าในการสอนและการปฏิบัติงาน ทรัพยากรสารสนเทศที่ใช้สูงสุดคือ หนังสือตํารา ปัญหาการใช้บริการสารสนเทศคือ สํานักหอสมุดกลางมีหนังสือตําราหลักต่อชื่อเรื่องน้อยฉบับ ความต้องการบริการสารสนเทศสูงสุดคือ บริการแจ้งรายชื่อหนังสือใหม่ของสํานักหอสมุดกลาง ในส่วนการเปรียบเทียบการใช้สารสนเทศ ปัญหาการใช้บริการสารสนเทศและความต้องการบริการสารสนเทศของอาจารย์จําแนกตามกลุ่มคณะและประสบการณ์โดยรวมพบว่าไม่มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสาคัญทางสถิติ สําหรับนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาพบว่า มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการใช้สารสนเทศที่สําคัญ คือเพื่อการค้นคว้าประกอบการเรียนรายวิชา ทรัพยากรสารสนเทศที่ใช้สูงสุดคือ หนังสือตํารา ปัญหาการใช้บริการสารสนเทศระดับสูงสุดคือ สํานักหอสมุดกลางจัดหาหนังสือใหม่ล่าช้า ความต้องการบริการสารสนเทศสูงสุดคือ บริการรวบรวมบรรณานุกรมเฉพาะสาขาวิชา การเปรียบเทียบการใช้สารสนเทศจําแนกตามกลุ่มคณะโดยรวมแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (p < .05) โดยกลุ่มคณะวิทยาศาสตร์ประยุกต์ คณะเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ และคณะศิลปศาสตร์ประยุกต์มีการใช้สารสนเทศมากกว่ากลุ่มคณะครุศาสตรอุตสาหกรรมและกลุ่มคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ส่วนการเปรียบเทียบปัญหาการใช้บริการสารสนเทศและการเปรียบเทียบความต้องการบริการสารสนเทศของนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาจําแนกตามกลุ่มคณะโดยรวมพบว่าไม่มีความแตกต่างกัน

The purpose of this survey research was to study and compare the use of information resources, problems in the use of, the needs for information services of faculty members and graduate students of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, North Bangkok. One-hundred and thirty seven faculty members and 181graduate students of the Institute were given self-administered questionnaires. The statistics used were descriptive statistics and one-way analysis of variance. It was found the faculty’s main use of information was for teaching and work; textbooks were reportedly used the most; the highest reported problem was the insufficient copies of main text books; and, the information service most requested by the faculty members was the distribution of the new acquisitions list. No significant difference was found between different faculties and levels of experience with regard to their information use, problems faced and information service needs. In terms of the graduate students, their main objective of information use was coursework related; text books were reportedly used the most; the problem most reported was the delay in new acquisitions; and, the information service most requested by the students was bibliographic compilations. The graduate students from the Faculties of Applied Science, Information Technology and the Applied Liberal Arts significantly used more information than those from the Faculties of Industrial Education and Engineering (p < .05). No significant difference was found among the graduate students of different faculties with regard to the problems faced and information service needs.
