การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล ปัจจัยทางการตลาด และ ปัจจัยด้านจิตวิทยาของนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียนที่เข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย (2) ศึกษาพฤติกรรมในด้านค่าใช้จ่ายต่อวัน จำนวนวันพำนัก และจำนวนครั้งที่มาท่องเที่ยว ของนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียนที่เข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย (3) ศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการตัดสินใจของนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียนที่เข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย (4) เปรียบเทียบทัศนคติที่มีต่อปัจจัยทางการตลาดการท่องเที่ยวของประเทศไทยของนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียนก่อนและหลังเข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันจำนวน 252 คน และนักท่องเที่ยวชาวแคนาเดียนจำนวน 140 คนรวมทั้งสิ้น 392 คนโดยใช้การสุ่มกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบโควตาเครื่องมือที่ใช้เป็นแบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การทดสอบค่าที การวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบและการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยแบบเส้นตรงพหุคูณ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) นักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียนเข้ามาท่องเที่ยวประเทศไทยมีรายได้ต่อปีน้อยกว่า 39,999 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐมากที่สุด มีทัศนคติเชิงบวกต่อแหล่งท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติมากที่สุดและปัจจัยด้านผลิตภัณฑ์เป็นเหตุจูงใจสำคัญที่สุดให้มาท่องเที่ยวประเทศไทย (2) นักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียน มีค่าใช้จ่ายต่อวันเฉลี่ย 64.9 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐอเมริกา มีจำนวนวันพำนักเฉลี่ย 21.09 วันและมีจำนวนครั้งที่มาเฉลี่ย 2.87 ครั้ง (3) ปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลและปัจจัยทางการตลาดมีอิทธิพลต่อการตัดสินใจ ของนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียนที่เข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย (4) ทัศนคติที่มีต่อปัจจัยทางการตลาดการท่องเที่ยวของนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันและชาวแคนาเดียนก่อนและหลังเข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทยมีความแตกต่างกัน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
The objectives of this research were (1) to study the personal, marketing and psychological factors of American and Canadian tourists. (2) to study the daily expenses, length of stay and frequency of visits of American and Canadian tourists. (3) to study factors influencing the decisions of American and Canadian tourists to visit Thailand; and (4) to compare American and Canadian tourists attitudes towards the tourism marketing factors of Thailand before and after visiting Thailand. The research sample of 392 comprised 252 American tourists and 140 Canadian tourists. A random Quota Sampling technique was used to obtain the 392 subjects. This was a survey research, and the research instrument was a questionnaire. Statistics used for research data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings were (1) Most of American and Canadian tourists earned annual income less than 39.999 us$, got the most positive attitude towards the natural places of Thailand and being encouraged to visit Thailand by tourism product. (2) The average daily expenses of American and Canadian tourists is 64.9 USS. the average length of stay is 21.09 days and the average frequency of visits is 2.87 times, (3) Personal and marketing factors influenced the decisions of American and Canadian tourists to visit Thailand; and (4) Attitudes towards the tourism marketing factors of Thailand of American and Canadian tourists before and after visiting Thailand were significantly different at a level of .05.
