การศึกษาครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบการใช้พลุสารดูดความชื้นสูตรโซเดียมคลอไรด์และสูตรแคลเซียมคลอไรด์ที่มีผลต่อลักษณะเมฆฟิสิกส์ท่ีระดับฐานเมฆ
คิวมูลัส วิธีการทดลองใช้หน่วยทดลองที่ได้มาจากข้อมูลทุติยภูมิภายใต้โครงการทดสอบประสิทธิภาพพลุสารดูดความชื้นเสริมการปฏิบัตืการฝนหลวงเมฆอุ่น ตั้งแต่ปี 2552 – 2554 โดยจำแนกหน่วยทดลองออกเป็น 3 กลุ่มได้แก่ กลุ่มเมฆที่ไม่ใช้พลุสารดูดความชื้น จำนวน 3 ตัวอย่าง กลุ่มเมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรโซเดียมคลอไรด์ จำนวน 6 ตัวอย่าง และกลุ่มเมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรแคลเซียมคลอไรด์ จำนวน 9 ตัวอย่าง ข้อมูลเมฆฟิสิกส์ที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ ได้แก่ ปริมาณน้ำ ขนาด และปริมาณความเข้มข้น ของเม็ดน้ำ ที่ได้จากเครี่องมือตรวจวัดอนุภาคขนาดเล็กที่มีขนาดไม่เกิน 47 ไมครอนที่ติดตั้ง บนเครื่องบินวิจัยเมฆฟิสิกส์ของกรมฝนหลวงและการบินเกษตร ทำการวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนาและสถิติเชิงอนุมาน โดยใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปทางสถิติ ทำการเปรียบเทียบข้อมูลเมฆฟิสิกส์ระหว่างก่อนใช้กับหลังใช้พลุสารดูดความชื้นด้วยวิธี paired samples t-test และเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างของ ค่าเฉลี่ยข้อมูลเมฆฟิสิกส์ด้วยวิธี independent samples t-test ผลการศึกษาพบว่า เมื่อเปรียบเทียบข้อมูลระหว่างก่อนใช้กับหลังใช้พลุสารดูดความชื้น ด้วยวิธี paired samples t-test ปรากฎว่ากลุ่มเมฆที่ไม่ใช้พลุสารดูดความชื้นกับกลุ่มเมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรโซเดียมคลอไรด์ ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันทางสถิติที่ระดับ นัยสำคัญ 0.05 ทั้งปริมาณน้ำ ขนาดและปริมาณความเข้มข้นของเม็ดน้ำ แต่พบว่า เม็ดน้ำของกลุ่ม เมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรแคลเซียมคลอไรด์ มีขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นหลังการชัพลุอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับนัย สำคัญ 0.05 เมื่อเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างของค่าเฉลี่ยข้อมูลเมฆฟิสิกส์ด้วยวิธี independent samples t-test พบว่า กลุ่มเมฆทั้งสามกลุ่มมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของปริมาณน้ำ ขนาดและปริมาณความเข้มข้นของเม็ดน้ำ ไม่แตกต่างกันทางสถิติที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05 จากการเปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของข้อมูลเมฆฟิสิกส์ กล่าวได้ว่า กลุ่มเมฆที่มีการใช้พลุสารดูดความชื้นทั้งสองสูตรมีแนวโน้มช่วยให้เม็ดน้ำที่ระดับฐานเมฆเกิดการรวมตัวกัน จนมีขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นได้ดีกว่า การรวมตัวกันตามธรรมชาติ และกลุ่มเมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรแคลเซียมคลอไรด์ มีขนาดเม็ดน้ำใหญ่กว่ากลุ่มเมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรโซเดียมคลอไรด์ และกลุ่มเมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรโซเดียมคลอไรด์ช่วยเพิ่มปริมาณน้ำ และปริมาณความเข้มข้น ของเม็ดน้ำได้ดีกว่ากลุ่มเมฆที่ใช้พลุสูตรแคลเซียมคลอไรด์
The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of sodium chloride hygroscopic flare and calcium chloride hygroscopic flare on characteristics of cloud physics at the height of cumulus cloud base. This experiment was conducted by using experimental units from secondary data under the project for testing effectiveness of employing hygroscopic flare to enhance warm cloud seeding from 2009 - 2011. The experimental units were divided into three categories: three clouds that were not seeded, six clouds that were seeded with sodium chloride, and nine that were seeded with calcium chloride. The cloud physics parameters used in the analysis consisted of liquid water content, size, and total concentration of water droplets, as measured by a device measuring particles less than 47 microns attached on the cloud physics research aircraft of the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation. Descriptive analysis and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The comparison of data between before and after the experiment was done by paired samples t-test. The difference of the mean data of the cloud physics was also compared by independent sample t-test. It was found that the experimental units which did not use hygroscopic flare and the experimental units using sodium chloride hygroscopic flare (seeded) showed no statistically significant difference between before and after the experiment at the statistical significance level of 0.05 for liquid water content, size and total concentration of water droplets. However, the size of water droplets of the experimental units using calcium chloride hygroscopic flare measured after seeding were significantly larger than before seeding at significance level of 0.05. When analyzed by independent sample t-test, the study showed no significant difference in liquid water content, size and total concentration of water droplets between the three categories of cloud at the statistical significance level of 0.05. Still, the comparison of mean data of cloud physics showed that the two cloud groups which were seeded using both kinds of flare tended to have an enhanced coalescence process at the cumulus cloud base compared to natural cloud formation. Moreover, the experimental units using calcium chloride hygroscopic flare resulted in larger size of water droplets than the experimental units which were seeded by sodium chloride hygroscopic flare. n contrast, the experimental units seeded by sodium chloride hygroscopic flare exhibited larger volume and higher concentration of water droplet than the experimental units seeded by calcium chloride hygroscopic flare.
