Abstract
การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการใช้และเปรียบเทียบการใช้แหล่งสารสนเทศการใช้เครื่องมือช่วยค้นสารสนเทศ และการใช้สารสนเทศประเภทต่าง ๆ เพือการศึกษาค้นคว้าและการทำวิทยานิพนธ์ของนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาโท คณะสังคมศาสตร์และมนุษยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ กับกลุ่มตัวอย่าง จำนวน 220 คน โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการวิจัย ทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิดิ เชิงพรรณา (Descriptive) ใช้สถิตินอนพาราเมตริก Mann-Whitney U Test ในการทดสอบสมมุติฐาน ทำการทดสอบรายข้อด้วยสถิดิ Wilcoxon Test ผลการวิจัยที่สำคัญพบว่า นักศึกษามีการใช้แหล่งสารสนเทศโดยรวม เครื่องมือช่วยค้นสารสนเทศโดยรวม การใช้สารสนเทศประเภทต่าง ๆ เพื่อการทำวิทยานิพนธ์ในระดับมากส่วนวัตถุประสงค์อื่นใช้ในระดับปานกลาง การทดสอบสมมุติฐาน การเปรียบเทียบวัตถุประสงค์การใช้สารสนเทศ เพื่อการศึกษาค้นคว้าและการทำวิทยานิพนธ์ พบว่า นักศึกษาทีมีวัดถุประสงค์การใช้สารสนเทศต่างกัน มีการใช้แหล่งสารสนเทศ การใช้เครื่องมือช่วยค้นสารสนเทศ และการใช้สารสนเทศประเภทต่าง ๆ โดยรวมแตกต่างกัน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิตทีระดับ 0.00 ข้อเสนอแนะ ควรมีการศึกษาการใช้สารสนเทศตามวัตถุประสงค์ของนักศึกษาระดับชั้นต่าง ๆ ของมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล
The objectives of this research were to study utilizations of information resources, search engines and information of different types in studying and thesis writing; and to compare the utilizations of information resources, search engines and information of different types that vary in accordance with different objectives of information use. Samples consisted of 220 Master’s students at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University. It was a survey using questionnaires as research tool. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and non-parametric statistics. Mann-Whitney บ Test was used to test hypotheses, and Wilcoxon Test to test each Items. Research results showed that, as a whole, the students’ utilizations of information resources, search engines and information of different types for thesis writing was in the level ’high'. The utilizations for paper writing, research projects, and course examinations were in the level ‘medium’. According to the test of hypothesis in the comparison between different objectives of information use, e.g. between studying and thesis writing, it was found that the utilizations of information resources, search engines and information of different types among students with different objectives of information use differed with statistical significance at 0.00. It is recommended that further studies be conducted on specific objectives of information use among different levels of students at Mahidol university.
