Abstract
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาบทบาทวัดคลองแจงตำบลสะตอน อำเภอสอยดาว จังหวัดจันทบุรี กับการเสริมสร้างประชาธิปไตยท้องถิ่น (2) ศึกษาปัญหาและอุปสรรคบทบาทวัดคลองแจง ตำบลสะตอน อำเภอสอยดาว จังหวัดจันทบุรี กับการเสริมสร้างประชาธิปไตยท้องถิ่น (3) ศึกษาแนวทางแก้ไขและข้อเสนอแนะ การวิจัยนี้ใช้วิธีการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ เป็นการเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างเฉพาะเจาะจงจำนวน 13 คน โดยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม ประกอบด้วย พระสงฆ์และประชากรภายในวัด จำนวน 5 คน และกลุ่มผู้นำชุมชนและประชาชนทั่วไป จำนวน 8 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ข้อมูลจากเอกสาร จากการสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วม และจากการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก และทำการวิเคราะห์บรรยายเชิงพรรณนา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) บทบาทวัดคลองแจงกับการเสริมสร้างประชาธิปไตยท้องถิ่นผ่านความรู้ความเข้าใจในด้านพระพุทธศาสนาและการเมืองการปกครองท้องถิ่นโดยใช้หลักธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนา 6 ข้อ คือ 1.1) หลักคำสอนที่ส่งเสริมการเป็นคนดีในฐานะของปัจเจก 1.2) หลักคำสอนที่ส่งเสริมความรับผิดชอบต่อหน้าที่ 1.3) หลักคำสอนที่ส่งเสริมความมีเหตุผล 1.4) หลักคำสอนที่ส่งเสริมให้ถือหลักการกว่าการยึดติดตัวบุคคล 1.5) หลักคำสอนที่ส่งเสริมความอดทน 1.6) หลักคำสอนที่ส่งเสริมการรับฟังคนอื่น บทบาทของวัดกับการเสริมสร้างประชาธิปไตยท้องถิ่น 3 บทบาท คือ บทบาทวัดที่มีพระสงฆ์ดำเนินการแทนในด้านการพัฒนาอบรบจิตใจ, บทบาทในด้านที่ปรึกษา, บทบาทวัดกับการสนับสนุนโครงการสวดมนตร์วันศุกร์ของเด็ก (2) ปัญหาและอุปสรรค ได้แก่ 2.1) มีด้านบุคลากรไม่เพียงพอ, ประชาชนเริ่มขาดพื้นฐานความศรัทธาและอิทธิพลของกระแสโลกาภิวัตน์ (3) แนวทางแก้ไขและข้อเสนอแนะบทบาทวัดคลองแจงกับการเสริมสร้างประชาธิปไตยท้องถิ่น คือ เสนอให้ทุกภาคส่วนในท้องถิ่นและระดับประเทศต้องร่วมแรงร่วมใจผลักดันให้ชุมชนท้องถิ่นเป็นชุมชนคุณธรรมตามหลักพื้นฐานของหลักศีล 5 เพื่อรองรับการเป็นพลเมืองที่ดี
The purposes of this research were: (1) to study the role of Wat Khlong Chaeng, Saton Sub-district, Sot Dao District, Chanthaburi Province in democracy promotion in the community; (2) to study problems and obstacles of role of Wat Khlong Chaeng, Saton Subdistrict, Soi Dao District, Chanthaburi Province in democracy promotion in the community; and (3) to propose solutioms or suggestions. This study employed qualitstive research method. The sample group was selected purposely. It contained 13 cases and was divided into two subgroups, which consisted of five Buddhist monks and population in the temple and eight community leaders and locals. The research tools were relevanted documents, participant observation and in-depth interview. In addition, the descriptive analysis was applied. The study found that: (1) Wat Khlong Cheng promoted democratic practice in the community through Buddhism approach and local politics. In doing so, six Buddhism teachings were applied namely 1.1) promoting virtuous man as individual; 1.2) teachings promoting duty responsibility; 1.3) teachings promoting rationality; 1.4) teachings promoting principles attachment rather than individual attachment; 1.5) teachings promoting tolerance; and 1.6) teachings promoting open-mindedness. The study also found three aspects of the roles of the temples in promoting democracy in community: mental training and education which carried out by monks; consultancy; and role support for children’s praying on Friday. (2) problems and obstacles found were 2.1) problems and obstacles in term of inadequate personnel, declining faith of people and influence of globalization; (3) it is proposed that all sectors in the community and nation should cooperate each other to build the local community to be moral community based on five precepts to support virtuous citizen.
