การรู้สารสนเทศของนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช

Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาระดับการรู้สารสนเทศของนักศึกษาระดับ บัณฑิตศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช และ (2) เปรียบเทียบการรู้สารสนเทศของนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช จําแนกตามตัวแปรด้านเพศ สาขาวิชา และประสบการณ์ในการเรียนวิชาเกี่ยวกับการสืบค้นสารสนเทศ กลุ่มตัวอยางเป็นนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช ปีการศึกษา 2552 จํานวน 355 คน จากการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้นตามสาขาวิชา รวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบทดสอบการรู้สารสนเทศซึ่งพัฒนาขึ้นโดยอิงตามมาตรฐานการรู้สารสนเทศระดับอุดมศึกษาของสมาคมห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยและห้องสมุดวิจัยแห่งสหรัฐอเมริกา สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การทดสอบค่าที การทดสอบค่าเอฟ และเปรียบเทียบรายคู่ตามวิธีการเชฟเฟ่ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) นักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช มีการรู้สารสนเทศโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับ ปานกลาง และ (2) ผลการเปรียบเทียบการรู้สารสนเทศตามตัวแปรด้านเพศ พบว่าโดยรวมนักศึกษาที่มีเพศต่างกันมีการรู้สารสนเทศไม่แตกต่างกัน แต่เมื่อ พิจารณารายมาตรฐานพบว่า นักศึกษาเพศชายมีการรู้สารสนเทศในด้านการใช้สารสนเทศตามหลักจริยธรรมและกฎหมาย สูงกว่าเพศหญิง และตัวแปรด้านสาขาวิชา พบว่านักศึกษาที่ศึกษากลุ่มสังคมศาสตร์มีการรู้สารสนเทศโดยรวมและรายมาตรฐานสูงกว่านักศึกษากลุ่มวิทยาศาสตร์ ส่วนตัวแปรด้านประสบการณ์การเรียนรายวิชาเกี่ยวกับการสืบค้นสารสนเทศไม่พบความแตกต่าง

The objectives of this research were (1) to study the information literacy level of the of the graduate students at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University and (2) to compare the students information literacy level in three variables: gender, field of study and experience in the course of information retrieval. The sample used in this study was 355 Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University graduate students who were studying in the academic year 2009. This sample was drawn through a stratified random sampling procedure. A test was developed as a tool for data collection. This test was based on the Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education by Association of College and Research Libraries. Statistics used for analyzing data included percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and Scheffe’s test. The research findings showed the following results: (1) STOU graduate students had moderate level of information literacy, and (2) the comparison of the students’ information literacy level in three variables showed that male students had a higher information literacy level in the use of information ethics than females students, and students in social sciences had a higher information literacy level than those in science. No significant differences were found between the level of information literacy with experience in the course of information retrieval.
