| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to compare critical thinking ability in the topic of Development of Ayutthaya Kingdom of Grade 8 students at Krathumbean “Wisetsamutthakhun” School in Samut Sakhon Province before and after by the historical method. The research sample consisted of 36 Grade 8 students who studied in the first semester of the 2022 academic year at Krathumbean “Wisetsamutthakhun” School in Samut Sakhon Province, obtained by cluster sampling. The research instruments were (1) four lesson plans of historical method covering 12 periods of instructional time; and (2) one set of a critical thinking ability test with reliability coefficients of .83. Statistics employed for data analysis were the mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research findings showed that the post-learning critical thinking ability in the topic of Development of Ayutthaya Kingdom of the students who learned by the historical method was higher than their pre-learning counterpart at the .05 level of statistical significance. | |
