ความสามารถในการแข่งขันของธุรกิจโรงแรมในเขตเมืองพัทยา

Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาความสามารถในการแข่งขันของธุรกิจโรงแรม ในเขตเมืองพัทยา และ (2) ศึกษาขนาดโรงแรมในเขตเมืองพัทยากับความสามารถในการแข่งขันของธุรกิจโรงแรม โดยใช้กรอบแนวคิด 7-S ของแมคคินซีย์ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ประกอบด้วย โรงแรมในเขตเมืองพัทยา จำนวน 119 แห่ง เครื่องมือที่ใช้เป็นแบบสอบถามแบบมาตรประมาณค่าเกี่ยวกับความสามารถในการแข่งขันของธุรกิจโรงแรมในเขตเมืองพัทยา ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้นมีค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ 0.95 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวน และการทดสอบภายหลังด้วยวิธีเชฟเฟและดันเน็ท ที 3 ด้วยใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์สำเร็จรูป SPSS for windows ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) โรงแรมในเขตเมืองพัทยามีความสามารถในการแข่งขันในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่า โรงแรมในเขตเมืองพัทยามีความสามารถในการแข่งขันทุกด้าน อยู่ในระดับมาก โดยเรียงลำดับจากด้านที่สูงสุดไปหาตํ่าสุดดังนี้ด้านแบบการบริหาร ด้านโครงสร้าง ด้านกลยุทธ์ ด้านบุคลากร ด้านระบบ ด้านทักษะ และ ด้านค่านิยมร่วม และ (2) ความสามารถในการแข่งขันของธุรกิจโรงแรมที่มีขนาดต่างกันในเขต เมืองพัทยา ในภาพรวม พบว่า กลุ่มโรงแรมขนาดใหญ่มีความสามารถในการแข่งขันต่างจากกลุ่มโรงแรมขนาดเล็ก อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่ากลุ่มโรงแรมขนาดใหญ่มีความสามารถในการแข่งขันด้านกลยุทธ์ ด้านโครงสร้าง ด้านระบบด้านบุคลากร ด้านทักษะ และด้านค่านิยมร่วมต่างจากกลุ่มโรงแรมขนาดเล็ก และกลุ่มโรงแรมขนาดกลางมีความสามารถในการแข่งขันด้านทักษะต่างจากกลุ่มโรงแรมขนาดเล็ก อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

The objectives of this study were (1) to study hotels’ competitiveness in Pattaya City; and (2) to study competitiveness based on the sizes of the hotels in Pattaya City, on the McKinsey 7-S Model.The sample consisted of 119 participating hotels in Pattaya City. Tools used in the survey were rating-scale questionnaires (reliability level at 0.95) regarding the implementation of annual operating plans. SPSS/PC for windows computer program was used to calculate the percentages, mean, standard deviation, ANOVA and the Scheffe’s and Dunnett T3 method. According to the finding, (1) the participating hotels’ had high levels of competitiveness. Considering each area, the study indicates that competitiveness in all areas is high. They were ranked from the highest to the lowest level as follows: styles, structures, strategies,staffs, systems, skills and shared values receptivity. (2) the competitiveness of hotels of different sizes in Pattaya City overall, in conclusion,large hotels were more competitiveness than small hotels, with a significant difference of .05. Considering at each area, the study finds that large hotels have better competitiveness in the areas of strategy, structure, system, staff, skill and shared value than small hotels. Mid hotels have better competitiveness in the area of skills than smaller hotels, significantly different at a level of .05.
