ความคิดเห็นของนักลงทุนไทยในประเทศสหภาพเมียร์มาร์เกี่ยวกับอุตสาหกรรมพลังงาน

Abstract

การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา (1) สภาพแวดล้อมระดับมหภาคของการลงทุนในสหภาพเมียนมาร์ และ (2) สภาพการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมพลังงานในสหภาพเมียนมาร์ การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสํารวจ ประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษาคือ นักธุรกิจชาวไทยที่ลงทุนเกี่ยวกับอุตสาหกรรมพลังงานในสหภาพเมียนมาร์ ซึ่งมีจํานวนทั้งหมด 120 บริษัท และใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บข้อมูล สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ร้อยละ และค่าเฉลี่ย ผลการศึกษาพบว่า (1) สภาพแวดล้อมระดับมหภาคที่ก่อให้เกิดโอกาสการลงทุน ด้านธุรกิจพลังงานในสหภาพเมียนมาร์โดยเรียงลําดับค่าเฉลี่ยได้ดังนี้ ด้านทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด มีค่าเฉลี่ย 4.21 รองลงมาคือ ด้านสังคมและวัฒนธรรม มีค่าเฉลี่ย 3.82 ด้านเทคโนโลยี มีค่าเฉลี่ย 3.50 ด้านเศรษฐกิจ มีค่าเฉลี่ย 2.19 และด้านการเมืองและกฎหมาย มีค่าเฉลี่ย 1.47 และ (2) สภาพการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมพลังงานในสหภาพเมียนมาร์พบว่า ไม่มีความรุนแรงเนื่องจากการเข้ามาทําธุรกิจใหม่ในสหภาพเมียนมาร์เป็นไปได้ยาก สินค้าทดแทนมีอิทธิพลในอุตสาหกรรมพลังงานน้อย คู่แข่งทางตรงในอุตสาหกรรมมีไม่มาก ซึ่งที่มีอยู่ก็มีขีดความสามารถตํ่า การพึ่งพาผู้จําหน่ายวัตถุดิบมีน้อย ส่วนอํานาจการต่อรองของลูกค้าค่อนข้างตํ่า

The objectives of this independent study were to study: (1) the macro-environment of investment in the Republic of Union of Myanmar; and (2) the competitiveness of the energy industry in the Republic of Union of Myanmar. This study was survey research. The population was Thai businessmen investing in the energy industry in the Union of Myanmar. The sample size was 120 investors from 120 Thai companies in the Union of Myanmar. A questionnaire was used to collect data. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including percentage and mean. The results showed that: (1) regarding the macro-environment creating investment opportunities in the energy sector in the Union of Myanmar, natural resources environment was at the highest level with a mean average of 4.21. Society and culture environment, technology environment, economic environment, and political and legal environment had an average of 3.82, 3.50, 2.19, and 1.47 respectively; and (2) the competition in energy industry in the Union of Myanmar was not so competitive because it was difficult for new comers to open a business in the Union of Myanmar. Substitution had little influence in the energy industry. There were not many direct competitors in the industry and existing capacity was low. The dependence on a few suppliers was low and the bargaining power of customers was low.
