กลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัย เป็นผู้สูงอายุในชมรมผู้สูงอายุโรงพยาบาลพระนั่งเกล้า จังหวัดนนทบุรี
จำนวน 285 คน ซึ่งได้มาโดยการสุ่มอย่างง่าย กำหนดขนาดของกลุ่มตัวอย่างด้วยวิธีของทาโร่ ยามาเน่
เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยได้แก่ (1) แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล (2) แบบวัดแรงจูงใจในการทำงานจิตอาสา
(3) แบบวัดการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง และ (4) แบบวัดพฤติกรรมจิตอาสา โดยมีค่าความเที่ยงเท่ากับ .824 สถิติ
ที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์แบบ
เพียร์สัน การวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณ และการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวน
ผลการวิจัย พบว่า (1) ระดับแรงจูงใจ การเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง และพฤติกรรมจิตอาสา
ของผู้สูงอายุในชมรมผู้สูงอายุโรงพยาบาลพระนั่งเกล้า จังหวัดนนทบุรี มีค่าเฉลี่ยโดยรวมและรายด้านอยู่ใน
ระดับมาก (2) แรงจูงใจและการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง มีความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกในระดับปานกลางกับพฤติกรรม
จิตอาสา อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (r = .36, และ .46 ตามลำดับ) (3) ปัจจัยแรงจูงใจกับการเห็น
คุณค่าในตนเอง ร่วมกันทานายพฤติกรรมจิตอาสาได้ร้อยละ 23 และ (4) ผลการเปรียบเทียบพฤติกรรมจิต
อาสาตามปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล ของผู้สูงอายุในชมรมผู้สูงอายุโรงพยาบาลพระนั่งเกล้า จังหวัดนนทบุรี พบว่า
ผู้สูงอายุที่มีเพศ อายุ สถานภาพสมรส การศึกษา อาชีพก่อนเกษียณ อาชีพหลังเกษียณ สถานภาพการเงิน และ
ลักษณะที่อยู่อาศัยที่แตกต่างกันจะมีพฤติกรรมจิตอาสาแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
The purposes of this research were (1) to study the levels of motivation, self-esteem, and volunteer-minded behaviors of elderly people in the Elderly Club of Phra Nangklao Hospital in Nonthaburi province; (2) to study relationships of motivation and self-esteem with volunteer-minded behaviors of elderly people in the Elderly Club of Phra Nangklao Hospital in Nonthaburi province; (3) to study the predicting power of using motivation in combination with self-esteem to predict volunteer-minded behaviors of elderly people in the Elderly Club of Phra Nangklao Hospital in Nonthaburi province; and (4) to compare the levels of volunteer-minded behaviors of elderly people in the Elderly Club of Phra Nangklao Hospital in Nonthaburi province, as classified by personal factors. The research sample consisted of 285 randomly selected elderly people in the Elderly Club of Phra Nangklao Hospital in Nonthaburi province. The sample size was determined based on Taro Yamane’s method. The employed research instruments were (1) a questionnaire on personal information, (2) a scale to assess motivation for doing volunteer-minded work, (3) a scale to assess self-esteem, and (4) a scale to assess volunteer-minded behaviors, with reliability coefficient of .824. Statistics for data analysis were the percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation, multiple regression analysis, and analysis of variance. The research findings revealed that (1) the overall means and aspect means of motivation, self-esteem, and volunteer-minded behaviors of elderly people in the Elderly Club of Phra Nangklao Hospital in Nonthaburi province were at the high level; (2) motivation and self-esteem were positively correlated at the moderate level with volunteer-minded behaviors, which were significant at the .05 level (r = .36 and .46 respectively); (3) the motivation factor and self-esteem factor could be combined to predict volunteer-minded behaviors by 23 per cent; and (4) comparison results of volunteer-minded behaviors of elderly people in the Elderly Club of Phra Nangklao Hospital in Nonthaburi province as classified by personal factors showed that elderly people with different genders, ages, marital statuses, educational levels, occupations before retirement, occupations after retirement, financial statuses, and types of dwelling place differed significantly at the .05 level in their levels of volunteer-minded behaviors.
