การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนามีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาระดับการใช้
อำนาจของหัวหน้าหอผู้ป่วย การปฏิบัติด้านการบริหารของหัวหน้าหอผู้ป่วยและประสิทธิผลของหอผู้ป่วย (2) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการใช้อำนาจ การปฏิบัติด้านการบริหารของหัวหน้าหอผู้ป่วยกับประสิทธิผลของหอผู้ป่วย และ (3) ศึกษาปัจจัยที่ร่วมกันทำนายประสิทธิผลของหอผู้ป่วย กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นพยาบาลวิชาชีพที่ปฏิบัติงานในโรงพยาบาลชุมชน เขต 8 จำนวน 351 คน ซึ่งได้จากการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเกาะกลุ่มสุ่ม 2 ชั้น เครื่องมีอที่ใช้ในการวิจัยเป็นแบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับการใช้อำนาจของหัวหน้าหอผู้ป่วย การปฏิบัติด้านการบริหารของหัวหน้าหอผู้ป่วย และประสิทธิผลของหอผู้ป่วย ซึ่งได้ผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงและวิเคราะห์ความเที่ยงได้เท่ากับ 0.95, 0.97 และ 0.95 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการหาความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบน

The purposes of this descriptive study were: (1) to investigate the level of the use of power, administrative performance of head nurses, and the effectiveness of patient units; (2) to explore relationships among the use of power, administrative performance of head nurses, and effectiveness of patient units; and (3) to identify the predictors of effectiveness of patient units. The sample comprised 351 registered nurses who worked at community hospitals, Region 8. They were selected by two-stage cluster sampling. Questionnaires were used as research tool including three sections: the use of power, administrative performance, and the effectiveness of patient units. The Questionnaires were tested for validity and reliability. The reliabilities of the first to the third sections were 0.95,0.97, and 0.95 respectively. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Major findings were as follows. (1) Registered nurses rated the use of power, administrative performance of head nurses, and the effectiveness of patient units at the high level. (2) There were significantly positive relationships among (a) the use of power, (b) administrative performance of head nurses, and (c) the effectiveness of patient units (j.) < 0.01). (3) Controlling, planning, and organizing (three areas of administrative performance of head nurses) predicted the effectiveness of patient units. These predictors accounted for 41.2%.
