Abstract
งานวิจัยคร้ังนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา (1) ประวัติและความเป็นมาของขนมเซ่นไหว้ที่ใช้ในงานบุญเดือนสิบของจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช (2) ความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับขนมเซ่นไหว้ที่ใช้ในงานบุญเดือนสิบของจังหวดนครศรีธรรมราช (3) การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม เศรษฐกิจ และวัฒนธรรมที่มีต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงขนมเซ่นไหว้ที่ใช้ในงานบุญเดือนสิบของจงหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยการศึกษาเอกสารการสังเกตุแบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม และการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึกผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลัก 35 คน ได้แก่ ผู้รู้จํานวน 10 คน ผู้นําชุมชน จํานวน 5 คน นักวิชาการจํานวน 5 คน และชาวนครศรีธรรมราช จํานวน 15 คน ซึ่งแบ่งเป็น 3 ช่วงวัย คือวัยรุ่นอาย 15-20 ปีจํานวน 5 คน วัยผู้ใหญ่ อายุ 36-59 ปีจํานวน 5 คน ผู้สูงอายุอายุ 60 ปี ขึ้นไป จํานวน 5 คน การ
วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้การวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) ประวัติของงานบุญเดือนสิบของจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช จากเอกสารสันนิษฐานว่า เป็นประเพณีที่ได้รับอิทธิพลจากวัฒนธรรมอินเดียกับประเพณีอื่นอีกหลายประเพณีการทําบุญเดือนสิบมี 2 คร้ังคือในวัน แรม 1 คํ่าเดือนสิบ และวันแรม 15 คํ่าเดือนสิบ จัดขึ้นคร้ังแรกเมื่อ พ.ศ.
2466 ส่วนความเป็นมาของขนมเซ่นไหว้ที่ใช้ในงานบุญเดือนสิบไม่ปรากฏเอกสารที่ชัดเจน (2) ความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับขนมเซ่นไหว้เป็นความเชื่อทางพระพุทธศาสนา ที่มีมาตั้งแต่สมัยพุทธกาลโดยการจดหุมฺรับ (อ่านว่าหมบเป็นภาษาถิ่นใต้แปลว่า สํารับ) ประกอบด้วยอาหาร พืชผักผลไม้และขนมสำคัญ 5-6 อย่างได้แก่ ขนมพอง ขนมลา ขนมกง (ขนมไข่ปลา) ขนมดีซํ้า ขนมบ้าและขนมลาลอยมัน (ขนมรังนก) เพื่ออุทิศส่วน
กุศลให้บรรพบุรุษที่ล่วงลับไปแล้วได้นําไปใช้แทนสิ่งต่างๆ ในปรโลก (3) สําหรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้น มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงโดยการนำขนมเซ่นไหว้อื่นๆ มาใช้แทน เช่น ขนมพิมพ์ ขนมขี้ขาว ขนมจูจุล ขนมไข่ ทองหยิบ ฝอยทอง ฯลฯ รวมทั้งมีการจัดพืชผักผลไม้อาหารกระป๋อง จากต่างประเทศร่วมด้วยและพบการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม เช่น ครอบครัวกลุ่มสังคมและสหจร ซึ่งมีปัจจัยภายในและภายนอกที่ทําให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลง ส่วนการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางเศรษฐกิจเป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านอาชีพ รายได้ทุนตลาด การสื่อสารและเทคโนโลยีส่วนปัจจัยทางวัฒนธรรมที่ทําให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลง ได้แก่ ทัศนคติ ค่านิยม ความเชื่อการหลงไหลของวัฒนธรรมต่างชาติและการลอกเลียนแบบ
The objectives of this research were to study (1) the historical background of sweets used as offerings during the tenth month religious ceremony in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province; (2) the beliefs about sweets used as offerings during the tenth month religious ceremony in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province; and (3) the social, economic and cultural changes affecting the changes in sweets used as offerings during the tenth month religious ceremony in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. This research was a qualitative research employing non-participatory observation and in-depth interviews as data collecting methods. Research informants totaling 35 persons consisted of 10 knowledgeable persons, 5 community leaders, 5 academics, and 15 residents of Nakhon Si Thammarat from three age groups: 5 adolescents in the 15 – 20 years age group, 5 adults in the 36 – 59 years age group, and 5 elderly people in the 60 years or over age group. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis. Research findings were as follows: (1) Regarding the historical background of the tenth month religious ceremony of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, it was hypothesized based on evidence obtained from documentary study that the tradition was influenced by Indian culture as well as other ceremonies. There were two tenth month religious ceremonies in a year. The first ceremony was held on the first post-full moon night of the tenth month; while the second ceremony was held on the new moon night of the tenth month. The ceremony was held for the first time in 1923. As for the historical background of sweets used as offerings during the tenth month religious ceremony, there was no document that clearly specified their historical background. (2) The beliefs about sweets used as offerings during the tenth month religious ceremony in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province were Buddhist beliefs that had existed since the Buddha’s lifetime concerning the offering of hmrab (a local Southern word, pronounced mab, meaning a set of meal) consisting of food, vegetables, fruits and 5 – 6 important sweets, namely, Khanom Phong, Khanom La, Khanom Kong (Khanom Khai Pla), Khanom Disam, Khanom Ba, and Khanom La Loy Man (Khanom Rang Nok) in order to dedicate the merit to deceased ancestors and for their use in the afterlife. (3) As for changes in the ceremony, other sweets were substituted for the traditional sweets, such as Khanom Phim, Khanom Khi Khao, Khanom Jujol, Khanom Khai, Thong Yip, Foy Thong, etc. Also, there were changes in the arrangements of food, vegetables and fruits that were different from those in the past, with the addition of canned food, vegetables and fruits from foreign countries in the offerings. The social changes that occurred were changes in social organization, namely, the family, social group, and associations. There were both internal and external factors that caused the changes. As for the economic changes, there were changes in factors such as occupation, income, capital, market, technology and communications; while the factors that caused cultural changes were attitudes, values, beliefs, inflow of foreign culture, and imitation.
