การใช้สารสนเทศเพื่อการศึกษาค้นคว้าของนักศึกษาสถาบันเทคโนโลยีราชมงคล

Abstract

การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยแบบสํารวจที่ใช้แบบสอบถาม โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) การแสวงหาสารสนเทศเพื่อนําไปใช้ในกิจกรรมการเรียนของนักศึกษา 2) การใช้หนังสือ/สื่อในห้องสมุดวิทยาเขตของนักศึกษา และ 3) ปัญหาในการใช้ห้องสมุดวิทยาเขตกลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีหลักสูตร 2 ปีต่อเนื่องของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลวิทยาเขตนนทบุรี วิทยาเขตบพิตรพิมุข มหาเมฆ และวิทยาเขตปทุมธานีในภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2546 จํานวน 584 คน จากการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้น สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ คือ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การทดสอบค่าที และการวิเคราะห์ ความแปรปรวนในการแสวงหาสารสนเทศเพื่อกิจกรรมการเรียนนั้น พบว่า ในการจัดทํารายงาน/ภาคนิพนธ์การทําโครงการ/โปรเจ็ค และการศึกษาค้นคว้าเพิ่มเติมนักศึกษาใช้ห้องสมุดวิทยาเขตมากที่สุด ในการฝึกปฏิบัตินักศึกษาใช้คู่มือประกอบมากที่สุด ในการฝึกงานนักศึกษาใช้ระเบียบวิธีการของหน่วยงานมากที่สุด ในการศึกษาต่อและหางานทํานักศึกษาใช้ข่าวสารประชาสัมพันธ์มากที่สุด และในการเตรียมตัวสอบนักศึกษาใช้ข้อมูลส่วนตัวมากที่สุด ทั้งนี้สาขาวิชาเป็นตัวแปรที่จําแนกความแตกต่างในการแสวงหาสารสนเทศเพื่อกิจกรรมการเรียนทั้ง 6 กิจกรรมได้ดีกว่าระดับคะแนนเฉลี่ยสะสมและเพศ นักศึกษาใช้สื่อทุกประเภทในห้องสมุดวิทยาเขตที่เรียนอยู่ในระดับปานกลางโดยสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ที่ใช้มากที่สุด คือหนังสือพิมพ์และหนังสือวิชาการปัญหาที่นักศึกษาประสบมากที่สุดในการใช้ห้องสมุดวิทยาเขตที่ตนเรียนอยู่ 3 อันดับแรกคือ จํานวนหนังสือ/สื่อไม่เพียงพอ หนังสือ/สื่อล้าสมัย และห้องสมุดขาดการประชาสัมพันธ์

This survey research aims to study 1) student information seeking in the study process 2) their campus library use and 3) problems of campus library use.Five hundred and eighty-four students in the two-year bachelor’s degree programs at three Rajamangala Institute of Technology Nonthaburi, Borpitpimuk and Patumtani campuses,who were enrolled during the second semester of the Academic Year 2003, were selected based on the stratified random sampling. They were given self-administered questionnaires. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, means, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance. It was found that the students used the campus libraries the most in doing reports, term papers, projects and additional studying. They referred to training manuals the most during practice sessions, used the trainer’s rules and regulations during practicum, used newsletters for job searches and further studies and resorted to personal information when preparing for examinations. The “area of study” was found to be a better indicator of student’s overall information seeking than cumulative grade point average and gender. The study revealed that the students used their campus libraries at the medium level and liked to read newspapers and textbooks in the libraries. The first three problems the students faced in their campus libraries were: inadequate and old collections and a lack of efficient library public relations.
